Cornell Computing and Information Science is pleased to invite you to BOOM 2017, Bits On Our Minds. BOOM is an annual showcase of student research and creativity in digital technology and applications. It’s an opportunity for Cornell undergraduate and Master’s-level students to show their best work in cutting-edge technologies. Past projects have included iPhone applications, video games, and robotics.
BOOM is free and open to the public. Middle through high school-aged students and their teachers are particularly encouraged to attend. There will be a special pre-event showcase introduction available to school groups, including demonstrations by a high school robotics team and a project sneak peek where school groups will have an opportunity to meet with the Cornell student presenters prior to the general public’s arrival. All BOOM attendees will be able to participate in demonstrations and vote on their favorite project, and there will be refreshments. If you have a school group or educator group interested in attending BOOM or need accommodations for disabilities, please contact email@example.com for further information. Please note that, even though the BOOM event is open to the public, the student outreach program has limited space available for attendance and acceptance is based on a first come, first served basis. *Free t-shirts and limited assistance with parking and transportation expenses are available on a first come, first served basis.*
We hope to see you at BOOM, and also hope you will share this information with anyone you know who might be interested in learning more about the creative ways Cornell students are using digital technology in their research and educational efforts. Note: All students must be chaperoned, at least one adult per three students.
